Codeway Expo 2025 shines a spotlight on the global coffee supply chain, through the presentation of the Global Fund for Coffee Sustainability and Resilience, an initiative promoted by Italy together with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) and the International Coffee Organization (ICO).Created within the context of the G7 discussions, the Fund represents a strategic turning point to address the systemic critical issues of the coffee supply chain, namely price volatility, climate change, vulnerability of agricultural communities and infrastructural deficiencies. Through a mix of innovative financial instruments and multi-stakeholder approaches, the initiative aims to mobilize private capital from public resources, promoting the inclusive and sustainable development of the sector in producer countries, with a particular focus on Africa, and on most vulnerable groups like small producers, women, young people, etc..The also offers an overview of the state of the art of the Fund, of the EU policies that directly impact the coffee supply chain (in particular the Deforestation Law) and of the various initiatives for traceability, certification and international promotion. The meeting will be enriched by direct testimonies and a space for dialogue between institutions, companies and operators in the supply chain.
