A lanciare l\u2019allarme \u00e8 Medici Senza Frontiere (Msf) che, in una nota, segnala come l\u2019ospedale regionale di Bay a Baidoa sia spesso l\u2019unico punto di riferimento gratuito e accessibile per cure ostetriche, pediatriche e nutrizionali.<\/p>\n<p>Secondo Msf, dal gennaio al giugno 2025 l\u2019ospedale ha trattato 11.894 bambini malnutriti, con un aumento del 76% rispetto allo stesso periodo del 2024. Nel solo 2024 le attivit\u00e0 avevano incluso oltre 38.000 consultazioni pediatriche, 2.800 parti assistiti e 35.000 visite di salute riproduttiva.<\/p>\n<p>La sospensione dei fondi Usaid ha portato alla chiusura di almeno 37 centri sanitari e nutrizionali nell\u2019area di Baidoa, facendo crescere in modo esponenziale il numero di pazienti nelle strutture rimaste operative. \u201cTroppo spesso le donne arrivano da noi in condizioni critiche perch\u00e9 non esistono servizi vicini alle loro case.
